When you want to start a blog but have no idea what you are doing.....

Ok guys, its only fair to warn you, I seriously have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to starting a blog! I just wasn't born with that gene everyone else seems to have, where they automatically know all this technology junk and how to build this website and install that program...and all these terms that I have no idea what they even mean!

So we are starting out VERY BASIC.....yep, i'm your basic blogger here...

I have wanted to do this for so long, tried a couple of years ago and got so frustrated with the technology, so I gave up. But this time, I really want it to work! So stick with me as I learn and navigate my way in this computer world!

Some of my hopes on what this blog will be...
I expect it will have some randomness ( a bit like this current post....) but my heart is diy and design! I love projects and making ugly and dated into pretty and timeless! I wanted a place to come and share with you all my successes (and failures...) Share some things I have learned through the years and maybe help you avoid things that didn't turn out so great!!! I'm very excited about this and hope you find some things that interest you!
Aside from being an enthusiastic diy-er and lover of interior design, I'm also a mama and a wife. I'm quite sure evidence of that will leak into my posts. I hope that's ok. Sometimes you need another outlet, a place to share what you are feeling and dealing with in everyday life. Though I have always said I would keep a journal documenting my 3 wonderful, amazing,  kiddos, I just never have taken the time. So I'm hoping to be able to record some of their cuteness along the way here, so as not to forget those precious moments.

I am excited to begin this blog and hope it grows into what I envision. I hope people read it and find something that interest them, or inspires them to start that next diy project! I promise to learn all I can about this blogging world and become better and better at this technical stuff :/

We (hubby and I) have some exciting things in the works for 2018 and I can't wait to share! stay tuned!!!

Living Room Update (and a little spring decor)

This living room space wasn't the easiest layout to design. Its open, but not very large. It really only has one solid wall. There are so many openings, doors, stairs...  I knew going into designing this space, I was really going to have to think through the layout. And its far from done! I like to play, and move things around often, so its likely to not stay this way for too very long. We still have plans to change the stair railing, add some type of architectural pieces going up the stair wall, and I'm on the hunt for the perfect rug for the space! But as promised, I'm hear to show you our progress, not just our completion! Everything has been freshly painted in Sherwin Williams Useful Grey. And the trim is done in Extra White. Let's look back at what we started with! And this is where we are now. Before  And after. What a difference some paint and accessories can make! Its all slowly coming together!  In add...

Easy Drop Cloth Curtains and DIY Hardware

So almost all the windows in my house are feeling like rock stars with their Plantation Shutters. You can open them up and let the light pour in, which is always my preference. Or/ if you are feeling like shutting out the world, you can do that too. I mean, the windows that have the shutters definitely have more cool points! And I am so thankful that this house already had all those cool points on MOST of the windows..... And then there's the windows in the dining room. These three girls are feeling like Plain Jane's at the party. For some reason, they were not in the line when the house was handing out shutters. So there they are, totally lacking accessories. It just wasn't fair! I decided they needed some special attention! I made a quick trip to Lowes and had everything I needed for my window makeover! Enter the Drop Cloths! These have so many more uses than just catching paint splatters! The possibilities for these babies are endless, some options being/ pill...

"Before" House Tour (part 1)

Hey guys! Thanks for all the sweet comments about us buying the new house! Your enthusiasm was appreciated! If you don't know how this flipper house came to be, you can click  here  to read the full story!  We were able to get some work done over the weekend and its fun to start seeing things happening! We got all the old kitchen countertops removed and ripped off all the old backsplash. Who knew that could be so therapeutic, but swinging that hammer really relieved some stress! Our painter started as well and I cant wait to get over there and see his progress! Paint can make all the difference in the world! Ok, so before I get too far ahead, I did want to show you guys the inside pictures!  I snapped quite a few and don't want to overload you all, so decided to break this up into two posts. Today I'll show you the main level and a few more of the outside! Let's get started! We definitely plan to have the outside painted, its a pretty house ...
